Valentine's Day, on 14 February known also as Saint Valentine's Day or the Feast of Saint Valentine, is a festival to celebrate love and romance.

What is Valentine's Day?

Each year people exchange cards, candy, gifts or flowers with their very special valentines. The special holiday dates back to the 5th centry and is named for a Christian martyr. However most probably it originates from a pagan fertility festival in pre-Roman times.

How do you celebrate Valentine's Day?

Gifts, flowers, cards and chocolates are swapped by couples in love or couples soon to be in love! In Victorian times it was considered bad luck to sign a Valentine's Day card – nowadays over 1 billion Valentine's Day cards are exchanged each year.

Tip: Wait until the countdown hits 0 if you're in for a treat!
