Burning Man is an annual festival of like-minded people to express themselves and get covered in dust at Black Rock City, Nevada. It began in 1986 and now brings together 70,000 burners. The festival is named after a giant effigy which is set on fire at the end of the seven days...

When is Burning Man?

Burning Man will start on Sunday, August 26 2018 and will continue for 7 days until September 4 2017. Burning Man is always held the week before and including the Labor Day weekend.

What is the theme this year?

Burning Man is a temporary metropolis dedicated to community, art, self-expression, and self-reliance and when the week is over, the Burners leave no trace whatsoever of 70,000 people ever being there. The art theme for 2017 is Radical Ritual.

What night does the Man burn?

The construction in the shape of a man, known commonly as 'the Man' burns on the Saturday night before Labor Day.

Where is Burning Man?

Burning Man will be held in the Black Rock Desert (also known as “the playa”), 120 miles north of Reno, Nevada. The towns of Empire and Gerlach serve as guardians of the desert region.

How much is a ticket?

Tickets for 2017 are $390 to attend and a vehicle pass for another $80.
